Two Additions to Crosby~Volmer Public Relations Team Bring Media and Government Experience to International Communications Firm

WASHINGTON, DC – Crosby~Volmer International Communications (CVIC), a Washington D.C. public relations firm, today announced the addition of two members to its public affairs team: Jason Schneider and Cassie Copen.

Schneider is a senior account executive at CVIC and brings an extensive background as a reporter, previously working for such outlets as the Associated Press, The St. Petersburg Times and The Florida Times-Union. Copen joins CVIC as an account executive after working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service.

Schneider will work with a variety of CVIC's clients, offering his insight in the news media as well as working on brand development and awareness campaigns. At Crosby~Volmer, Copen will be working with the DTV Speakers Bureau on a national consumer outreach program to inform the public of the Digital Television Transition.

Prior to joining CVIC, Schneider was a public relations professional at a national marketing and advertising agency in Florida. There, he was the account lead and provided account support for several Fortune 500 clients, focusing on business-to-business and brand development marketing and public relations in a variety of industries including maritime, finance/banking and defense.

Copen brings with her to Crosby~Volmer prior experience with the Digital Television Transition while she worked for the Department of Agriculture. She worked with the Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration and Federal Communications Commission to establish outreach strategy for the Digital Television Transition and coordinated a national 4-H project to reach out to remote communities and increase awareness of the switch.

Copen, originally from Kingwood, West Virginia, earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and Political Science from West Virginia University. Schneider is from Miami, Florida and earned his B.A. in English, with an emphasis in creative writing from Florida State University.
