Washington, D.C.
Immediate Opening (Washington, D.C.)
Basic Function:
Crosby-Volmer has multiple openings in our Washington, DC office for media relations professionals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Spearhead media relations initiatives targeting business and consumer press nationwide
- Communicate our clients' brands via a variety of media including print, broadcast, and online
- Generate ideas to consistently keep our clients in the media spotlight
- Develop pitches and work with targeted media on story development
- Pitch and place stories in all levels of media
- Research and monitor clients' business and industry to maintain a current knowledge base
- Assist with executing events, including press conferences, speaking engagements, editorial board meetings
- Assist in the research and preparation for new business pitches
Minimum Experience:
- Thorough understanding of social media platforms
- Ideal candidate will be very organized and creative
- Possess strong, established relationships with major regional and national media, and have a proven track record of securing placements
- Creative as well as strategic
- Proven ability to proactively seek out and respond to media inquiries from traditional and non-traditional media sources including online media
- Superior writing skills with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to multitask and take ownership of projects
- Ability to effectively motivate staff and clients
Staff Intern (Washington, D.C.)
Basic Function:
Crosby~Volmer International Communications, a Washington, D.C.-based public relations firm, is looking for a qualified intern to join our team.
Interns at Crosby~Volmer are an integral part of our team. We seek a skilled writer and self-starter, who has excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Daily duties include, but are not limited to:
- Compiling media lists
- Writing press releases
- Extensive research and organizational projects
- Making pitch calls
- General administrative duties
Communications, Journalism, and Public Relations undergraduates or recent graduates will be given preference.
